![]() ![]() I've had migraines for years, diagnosed with PCOS 2ish years ago. I guess my question is does anyone have any suggestions or has anyone had a similar experience? this just BLOWS and I'm so tired of being dismissed by doctors and having my self esteem and health suffer.įirst of all, oh dang! And good luck. Thinking of trying inositol, magnesium, spending hours daily reading about this stuff. I'm feeling all around hopeless because I have two situations that kind of aggressively oppose each other. My acne is back, not as severely as before so my gyno put me on spiro. (My lh and a couple other things were out of whack) then went to a neurologist who confirmed that I could be back on the loestrin but 1/20 dose instead of 1.5/30 and said it would be safe. I suspected that I had pcos so I went to an endocrinologist and she confirmed that. I went off the IUD and my acne diminished somewhat, went on an anti biotic which helped. It was a problem of course because it made my self confidence plummet but it also was extremely painful. I went off the birth control and got a mirena IUD, stayed on that for 5 months and it gave me the worst cystic acne along my cheeks that I've ever had. (I've been experiencing migraines with aura aka loss of sight since I was 12 and got my first period.) So, I was on loestrin 24 for 8 years from age 15 to 22 and went off last year when I switched to a new pcp who told me it's not "safe" to be on a combination birth control if you have migraines with aura. I literally created a Reddit account just to ask r/pcos about my situation/see if anyone else is dealing with this type of thing.
